Introducing the Pear Deck Shared Teacher Dashboard

Introducing the Pear Deck Shared Teacher Dashboard! This new feature enables teachers using Pear Deck Premium to share Session controls and valuable student insight with other designated educators, including student teachers, special educators, co-teachers, or even substitutes. With a real-time view of individual student work and the ability to guide and provide direct feedback, educators teaching together can better support the diverse needs of learners everywhere.

The Shared Teacher Dashboard has been in high demand for the last few years as co-teaching and team teaching has grown in popularity. As an educator-founded company, we value your feedback, and set to work brainstorming and building the simplest, most effective way to bring this request to life.

We know teachers never work alone. The strength of a learning community comes from the contributions of administrators, teachers, media specialists, special educators, teaching assistants, and counselors to support each student's growth and learning. The Pear Deck Shared Teacher Dashboard gives all of the educators in the learning environment a greater ability to see and meet students where they are, increasing the likelihood that all students will be actively engaged and supported.

How the Pear Deck Shared Teacher Dashboard works

Teachers who are invited to the Shared Teacher Dashboard of a Pear Deck Session will be granted the same controls as the host teacher to manage the lesson, including:

  • reviewing student responses in real time
  • switching from Instructor-Paced or Student-Paced Mode
  • adding slide timers and locks
  • inserting new prompts
  • highlighting or hiding answers on the Projector View
  • providing feedback and comments to students with the Teacher Feedback feature

To invite a co-teacher to a lesson, the host teacher selects the "Invite a Co-Teacher" option from the Teacher Dashboard menu and shares a link to the Session with another educator; this can happen at any point during a live Session. You can add as many co-teachers to a Session as you wish, and you can revoke access at any time as well. It’s important to note both the host teacher and co-teachers will need to have Pear Deck Premium to use this feature. Educators new to Pear Deck can sign up at www.peardeck.com to receive a free 30-day trial.
